Pastoral Letter 13th June 2020

Dear Friends,

‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Many people are anxiously asking, ‘when will our church be open for worship again’.  At present, there is no definite date for when main services will begin again, but as soon as this decision is made for St Aidan’s I will let you know. It is looking as if it will be a gradual and phased process with great emphasis being placed on the health and safety of all the congregation. Time is needed to plan and take the necessary steps to ensure that we are prepared, so that we can open safely. This will not be a decision made by the vicar alone but collectively with the Parochial Church Council, who have everyone’s best interests at heart. Each church has its own unique context which means that churches will begin to open at different rates.

Guidance from the government is constantly evolving. Just in the last few days it has been announced that small funerals can take place in church from Monday 15th June, observing socially distancing and hygiene rules, this, however, still means that St Aidan’s is otherwise closed.

Thank you for all that you are doing and for your understanding.

Next week:

  • SUNDAY SERVICE 10:00 on Zoom
  • TUESDAY SERVICE OF HOLY COMMUNION 9.15 - 16th June - Revd Sarah Farrimond  (farrimondsarah — Search
  • SATURDAY COFFEE WITH PRAYERS 10.30 - 20th June - Zoom

I hope that this finds you all safe and well.

Every blessing,

Kate
