Pastoral Letter 26th June 2020

Dear Friends,

I hope that this finds you all safe and well.

You will by now have heard that churches can open for public worship from the 4 July. The wording has been very carefully drafted and says ‘can’ not ‘must’. It has been emphasised that there is no need to rush. The important thing is to do this in the right way. We need to continually remind ourselves of the guidance on social distancing and hygiene in order to protect everyone from the transmission of infection.

With all of this in mind, the necessary risk assessments are in process and the PCC will meet on Monday evening to carefully consider the best way forward for St Aidan’s. When the church does reopen, whenever that may be, worship in church will look different. The number of people who can safely worship at any one time will be reduced. It looks as if orders of service will become personal possessions to take home and bring back each week and at present no singing is allowed.

Services for next week will continue as below:

Sunday 28th June 10.00

Holy Communion - Zoom

Tuesday 30th June 9.15

Holy Communion -  farrimondsarah — Search

Saturday 4th July 10.30

Coffee and Prayers - Zoom

Bishop Jonathan has written and recorded a sermon for this Sunday, the Third Sunday after Trinity. This can be watched, listened to or read by following the links/attachments below.
